Trump will promote Palestinian ‘self-determination’: report
President Trump will promote Palestinian “self-determination” during his upcoming trip to the Middle East, Reuters reported Friday.
U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster used the term while previewing the president’s trip, according to the report.

McMaster also said that Trump’s trip is intended to be “a message of unity,” with the commander in chief visiting holy sites of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
Trump has previously signaled that he would adopt a stronger pro-Israel role than he believes his predecessor had. He has publicly floated the idea of moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, which is not recognized by the United Nations as the country’s capital.
Trump promised to pursue a historic peace deal between Israel and Palestine following a White House visit by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas earlier in May.
Trump’s trip begins late next week and will include stops in Israel, Rome, Saudi Arabia and other regions.
