Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is warning the Trump administration that Tehran will not accept any changes or additions to the nuclear agreement signed with the U.S. and other Western countries.
The Associated Press reports that Rouhani said Wednesday that he made clear to French President Emmanuel Macron that Iran would reject a new deal or any changes to the current agreement.

Rouhani “told him explicitly that we will not add anything to the deal or remove anything from it, even one sentence. The nuclear deal is the nuclear deal,” according to the AP.
Macron had suggested to President Trump during his visit to the White House this week that a “new deal” could be struck between Iran and the West to alleviate Trump’s concerns with the nuclear accord.
Trump has frequently bashed the Obama-era agreement and threatened to exit it, but has continued to certify Iran’s compliance with the agreement while rebuking the nation for not following the “spirit” of the deal.
Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said Tuesday that Tehran would “most likely” exit the deal if the Trump administration were to leave.
“If the United States were to withdraw from the nuclear deal, the immediate consequence in all likelihood would be that Iran would reciprocate and withdraw,” Zarif told the AP.
“There won’t be any deal for Iran to stay in,” he added.
