White House national security adviser John Bolton on Sunday huddled with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Iranian nuclear power, according to Reuters.
“We’ve got great challenges for Israel, for the United States, for the whole world — the Iran nuclear weapons program and ballistic missile programs are right at the top of the list,” Bolton said at Netanyahu’s Jerusalem home.
Netanyahu also focused on Iran during his welcoming remarks.

He said the U.S. and Israel will “continue to roll back Iran’s aggression in the region and to make sure that they never have a nuclear weapon.”
The Israeli prime minister and Bolton will reportedly continue discussions on Monday.
Bolton’s visit to Israel marks the first stop on his overseas trip to discuss national security with global leaders. Later this week, Bolton will meet with Russian officials in Geneva.
The U.S. and Israel have long collaborated over how to curb Iranian influence in the Middle East.
The Trump administration has reimposed sanctions on Iran following President Trump‘s decision to leave former President Obama’s 2015 nuclear deal with the nation. The pact had rolled back sanctions against Tehran in exchange for a reduction in the country’s nuclear abilities.
Bolton reportedly called the nuclear deal “wretched” during his talks with Netanyahu, according to ABC News. The prime minister responded by calling the deal “disastrous.”
