Trump admin spends nearly $1M on limo rentals for two-day Ireland visit: report

The White House reportedly paid nearly $1 million to rent four limousines from an Irish funeral home for President Trump’s two-day visit to Ireland.

The Trump administration paid the family-owned JP Ward & Sons $935,033 — or $233,748 per vehicle — for the fleet, The Guardian reports.

It’s unclear what the fleet of limousines will be used for, but if Trump visits the village of Doonbeg — which sits near his hotel and golf resort in Ireland — it will cost a combined total of $116,879 per mile, according to The Guardian.{mosads}

The Trump administration also drew criticism for reports that the U.S. government has spent millions of dollars on the president’s three-day U.K. state visit.

Contracts placed by the State Department reportedly show spending more than $1.2 million for rooms at the InterContinental Hotel Park Lane, known for its ties to members of the Qatari royal family, The Guardian reports.

Another $339,386 was spent on rooms at the Hilton on Park Lane, an exclusive London hotel, as well as a car rental, The Guardian notes. An additional sum of more than $150,000 was used to pay for hotel rooms at the InterContinental.

The apparent charges continue, with another $18,750 on “hotel rooms in support of a VIP visit” and more than $47,000 for a generator.
