France is set to reopen the Eiffel Tower, has been closed since October due to the coronavirus, this summer.
“I’ll be delighted to welcome you again from July 16!” the Eiffel Tower Twitter account tweeted Thursday.
“Please note that online tickets will be available from June 1st,” it added.
Only 10,000 people will be able to visit a day, 15,000 lower than the normal limit, an operative for the Eiffel Tower told Agence France-Presse (AFP.)
The structure lost $146 million during the 2020-2021 year due to the closure caused by the coronavirus, a Societe d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel representative told AFP.
The opening of the famous structure comes as France announces eased coronavirus restrictions, Bloomberg reported.
The country is pushing back its curfew to 9 p.m. and shops and museums will open back up with some restrictions. Restaurants and bars in France are also reopening this week with some stipulations.
France has had over 5.9 million reported coronavirus cases and over 108,000 deaths.
