Canadian MP apologizes after being spotted nude on camera during virtual meeting

A Canadian politician has apologized after appearing naked during a virtual video meeting, saying his camera was accidentally left on as he was changing clothes.

Will Amos, federal member of parliament for Pontiac, Quebec, was seen completely unclothed in a photo that has now become viral.

Claude DeBellefeuille, a legislator for the opposition Bloc Quebecois Party, pointed out Amos’s appearance during the question period of the meeting.

“We have seen a member during question period improperly dressed. That is, unclothed. So perhaps remind the members, especially the male members, that suits and ties are appropriate,” DeBellefeuille said in French, according to CNN.

Amos, a member of the Liberal Party, which is led by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, issued an apology on his Twitter page Wednesday in both English and French.

“I made a really unfortunate mistake today & obviously I’m embarrassed by it,” Amos said in his statement.

“My camera was accidentally left on as I changed into work clothes after going for a jog. I sincerely apologize to all my colleagues in the House. It was an honest mistake + it won’t happen again,” he added.
