Authorities in Paris are investigating a Friday explosion that hurt multiple people as a possible terror attack.

The explosion in Lyon, France, happened around 5:30 p.m. local time and its cause has not been determined, according to CNN.

The BBC reported that 13 people were injured after a blast outside a bakery on a busy street.{mosads}

French President Emmanuel Macron called the event an “attack,” telling an interviewer that he was “late because there was an attack in Lyon,” according to CNN.

“As far as I can say there are no victims — there are wounded,” he added.

Police have released an image of a man they believe planted the device.

Macron later tweeted that his thoughts were with those wounded in the explosion as well as the families and loved ones of those affected by the violence.

“We are by your side,” he tweeted.

A spokeswoman for the Paris city prosecutor told CNN that Parisian authorities have started a terror investigation and said that a parcel bomb could be to blame.
