Danish soccer star Christian Eriksen sent his first public message since his scary collapse during a Euro 2020 match Saturday.

Eriksen took to Instagram on Tuesday, sharing a photo of himself in a hospital bed giving a thumbs-up. In his post, he thanked supporters for their well wishes to him and his family.

“Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family,” Eriksen said.

Eriksen collapsed during the 43rd minute of Denmark’s 2020 opener against Finland in Copenhagen on Saturday.

Danish team doctor Morten Boesen said during a news conference on Sunday that the 29-year-old midfielder was clinically dead before being brought back to life by the team’s trainers using a defibrillator. Boesen added that Eriksen will have to go through multiple medical examinations.

In his post Tuesday, the soccer star also sent support to his teammates for their upcoming match in the tournament.

“I’m fine – under the circumstances. “I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay. Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark.”

Denmark, which lost to Finland 1-0 after the match resumed following Eriksen’s medical emergency, will play Belgium in a Group B match on Thursday, The Associated Press noted.
