Three arrested in French bomb blast

French police have made three arrests in connection with a bomb blast that injured 13 people last week in the city of Lyon, according to Reuters.

A 24-year-old computer science student and a minor high school student, both of Algerian nationality, were reportedly arrested, as was a woman.

{mosads}Security footage of the time leading up to the bomb blast showed a partially masked person wheeling a bicycle to the scene before leaving a bag outside of a bakery. The bag contained an explosive device packed with screws and metal balls.

The man was arrested on the street after officers followed him, a source told the news service.

Police chose not to arrest him at his apartment in case he had more of the homemade explosive used in the attack, triacetone triperoxide, according to Reuters.

The case is being handled as a terrorism investigation.

The 24-year-old does not have a prior police record and the minor is related to the primary suspect, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office.
