Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) has asked the Obama administration to come to Capitol Hill to provide a classified lawmaker briefing on the Paris attacks.
Monday marks the House’s first day in session since the Friday massacre in Paris for which the Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility. A Ryan spokeswoman said the scheduling for a classified briefing is still being worked out.
{mosads}“It’s important we get all the facts,” Ryan said on Bill Bennett’s “Morning in America” show on Monday. “We’re still learning more, but what’s very clear is ISIS is not a remote danger in a far-off land.”
“We have to see this for what it is: This is a war. They brought it to us, and so the question is, how do we finish it?” Ryan said.
President Obama on Monday ruled out sending more ground troops to fight ISIS in the aftermath of the attacks in Paris that killed more than 120 people, saying it would be a “mistake.”
