Miller also accused Bauer of previously siding against transparency
advocates and in favor of unregulated political donations known as soft
money. The White House contends the new arrangement is an elevation of transparency issues and said the new team will be charged with enforcing existing ethics policies as well as spearheading new initiatives.
Last week lobbyist Tony Podesta called Eisen’s departure “the biggest lobbying success we’ve had all year.”
