Ex-CIA chief Panetta joins Oracle board

Former CIA Director Leon Panetta on Monday joined the board of directors for the California-based technology company Oracle.

{mosads}Panetta left the Obama administration in 2013 after serving as secretary of Defense. Before that, he served President Obama as director of the CIA. 

Panetta last year penned his memoir, Worthy Fights.

“We are honored to welcome Secretary Panetta to our Board,” the board’s Chairman Larry Ellison said in a statement. 

Panetta will be one of 12 board members at the Redwood Shores, Calif., company. Oracle focuses on engineering hardware and software. 

Panetta also served in the Clinton administration. Before his time in the executive branch, he spent more than a decade in the House representing a district in California.
