The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

It’s unclear whether Google will phase out the printing of Frommer’s travel books and focus on featuring its guides online. The search company declined to comment on whether it would cut the travel company’s printing of guidebooks, but the Google spokesman said it will continue to look for the best methods for people to access reviews in a way that’s consistent across its various services.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the news on Monday.
