Twitter fixed glitch that blocked Trump from appearing in search results for ‘POTUS’
Twitter has reportedly fixed a glitch in its site after users noticed that President Trump’s official “@POTUS” account wouldn’t show up in searches.
Short for “President of the United States,” former President Obama used the “@POTUS” handle while in office, and passed it to Trump’s team during the White House transition.{mosads}
However, due to a glitch, search results for the username only showed results for Obama and several parody accounts instead of the official username now used by President Trump.
According to a report by BuzzFeed News on Thursday, that glitch has been fixed.
Twitter is pathetic. Look what happens when you search for @POTUS. Trump is erased, Stalin style. #RealFake pic.twitter.com/gPHP5dZHLr

Several Twitter users who spotted the glitch said Twitter was intentionally censoring the search results as a slight against Trump.
When BuzzFeed inquired into the issue, Twitter responded that the inaccurate result “was a bug and has since been resolved.”
Search results for “POTUS” and “@POTUS” now show President Trump’s account first, followed by Obama’s new handle “@POTUS44.”
