Reid Hoffman, Mark Cuban join more than 100 Silicon Valley investors backing Harris

Editor’s note: This article has been updated to reflect Hoffman and Cuban’s role in the effort to support Harris.

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and television personality Mark Cuban are joining a group of more than 100 venture capitalists backing Vice President Harris, a strong show of support amid concerns that former President Trump is making inroads in Silicon Valley

“We spend our days looking for, investing in and supporting entrepreneurs who are building the future,” the “VCs for Kamala” website reads. “We are pro-business, pro-American dream, pro-entrepreneurship, and pro-technological progress.”

“We also believe in democracy as the backbone of our nation,” it continues. “We believe that strong, trustworthy institutions are a feature, not a bug, and that our industry — and every other industry — would collapse without them.”

“That is what’s at stake in this election,” the site says. “Everything else, we can solve through constructive dialogue with political leaders and institutions willing to talk to us. In this pivotal moment, we are united in our support for Vice President Kamala Harris.”

In addition to Hoffman and Cuban, big-name venture capitalists including Ron Conway and Vinod Khosla have also signed onto the pledge.

The show of support for Harris comes as Trump has managed to peel away several former Democratic donors in Silicon Valley, such as tech adviser Jacob Helberg, venture capitalist Shaun Maguire and billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk.

As crypto investors also increasingly swing for Trump amid icy relations with Democrats and the Biden administration, a growing cohort of conservative tech leaders has emerged in typically deep blue Silicon Valley.
