Hundreds of Microsoft Team users reporting technical difficulties

Hundreds of Microsoft Team users are reporting technical difficulties Wednesday with the company’s workplace messaging apps.

There have been around 840 reports of technical problems with Microsoft Teams, according to Downdetector. Seventy percent of the reported problems were related to server connection.

Microsoft told Reuters that the issues with its platform are only affecting the United States and that most reports involved messages being delayed.

“We’re working to confirm our findings while simultaneously exploring the optimal solution to remediate impact,” Microsoft said.

It is not clear if the issue is isolated to specific areas in the US or if it is a nationwide issue.

This is not been the first time an online platform used for work has had technical issues during the pandemic.

In January, there were widespread Verizon internet outages on the east coast that affected thousands of users and caused other online services such as Google, YouTube and Slack to have issues.

Technical issues with online workspaces are exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic as many office buildings are still closed and people are forced to work from home and rely on online workspaces.
