First woman of color nominated to T-Mobile board

The first woman of color has been nominated to T-Mobile’s U.S. board of directors, the company announced Monday.

Bavan Holloway’s nomination will be up for a vote June 3 at the annual stockholders meeting, the company’s statement said.

Holloway, who has more than 30 years of finance and audit experience, would be the first woman of color elected to the board and only one of three women on the board, Bloomberg reported.

“We will welcome Bavan Holloway to our board. I am confident she will be an amazing addition to this talented team of advisors, and we will be lucky to have her skills and experience join this team,” said Timotheus Höttges, chairman of the T-Mobile U.S. board of directors.

“She was also previously a Partner at KPMG. Holloway holds a bachelor’s degree in Administration from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree in Financial Markets and Trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She currently serves on the board for TPI Composites Inc. and the YWCA Seattle/King/Snohomish and previously served on the board of the Special Olympics of Washington,” the statement reads.

Another T-Mobile board member, Lawrence Guffey, is stepping down from the board after the annual meeting and another member resigned in April.

Holloway would be the 13th member added to the board.
