Walden had raised concerns about religious ISPs on the House floor and in a letter this week to Genachowski.
He cites a section of the order that says broadband providers are not prohibited from “addressing traffic that is unwanted by end users … such as by providing services or capabilities consistent with an end user’s choices regarding parental controls.”
The order also states that broadband providers can “allow users to choose a service that provides access to the Internet but not to pornographic websites.”
Genachowski pointed out that some religious groups have backed the regulations. “As a strong supporter of religious freedom, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this issue with your [sic] further at your convenience,” he wrote.
The letter comes as Walden’s measure to repeal the net-neutrality rules are slated for a House vote on Friday.
