{mosads}The sector with the highest number of gains in transportation employment in June, according to BLS, was “support activities for transportation,” which increased by 3,200 jobs. There were 587,200 jobs in June, compared to 584,000 in May.
The highest number of losses in transportation employment came in the transit and ground passenger transportation, which went from 468,600 jobs in May to 462,900 jobs in June.
The labor statistics bureau found the aviation industry lost 800 jobs, going from 467,200 in May to 446,400 last month. Rail employment was down by 200 jobs, with the industry containing 231,400 jobs in May compared to 231,200 in June.
