Rail supporters ‘thank’ Rick Scott for Florida’s money

“As a NYer I’d like to thank Fla Gov Scott for giving us $800m in transit funds. Glad he doesn’t want to improve HIS citizens lives!,” former MSNBC television host Keith Olbermann said on his Twitter page.

Scott’s team has also used Twitter to stand by his decision to reject $2.4 billion that would have been used to build a high-speed railway between Tampa and Orlando.

“Fitting for the state that also recently raised #jobkillingtaxes,” Scott’s deputy press secretary, Amy Graham, said last week when it was announced that $186 million of the money would go to Illinois toward a train connecting Chicago and St. Louis.

Thus far Monday, Scott himself has only tweeted about signing an unrelated bill on the heels of Florida’s recently completed legislative session.
