Flordia Dems to Rick Scott: Apologize for rejecting high-speed rail
But Florida Democrats are pressing him to apologize for what they see as inconsistency.
“On Friday, by announcing his approval of the SunRail project, Rick Scott confirmed that he rejected the high-speed rail project — and the 71,000 job-years the project would have provided — simply as a partisan ploy to attack the president,” the party said in an online petition on its website.
“Experts agree that the questions Scott raised and the reasons he gave for killing the high-speed rail’s critical investment in Florida’s infrastructure more aptly apply to the SunRail project,” the petition continued. “This leaves one conclusion: his decisions aren’t about the citizens of Florida. Sign the petition now and demand that Rick Scott apologize to Floridians and start making decisions that are right for Florida.”
