Boxer praises House committee’s water bill approval
{mosads}The House’s hearing about the water bill saw several lawmakers agree to withdraw amendments at the behest of Shuster, who called the water bill “one of my highest priorities as chairman” and urged lawmakers to keep the bill clean.
The Senate passed its version of the water bill in May.
Lawmakers are trying to craft the first new authorization of water infrastructure since 2007. The WRRDA bill does not contain specific funding for water projects. The bill merely authorizes committees with jurisdiction over port and water infrastructure to include funding in their budgets.
Lawmakers in both chambers have identified it as a top transportation priority for the rest of 2013.
