DOT chief gets briefing on San Antonio streetcar
Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx received a briefing from officials in San Antonio, Texas, about a proposed streetcar there, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Foxx is in San Antonio for a forum that is being sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation.
{mosads}He took time during his trip to receive an update on a 5.3 mile streetcar proposal that San Antonio officials are hoping to win federal money for, according to the paper.
Foxx appeared to praise the project, saying San Antonio was “probably the largest city in the country without some rail connection within its transit system,” according to the report.
