Police officers at the Los Angeles International Airport went on break before a fatal shooting of a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent last year, according to a Fox News report.
The airport policemen, who are armed unlike TSA agents, left their stations for breaks without notifying their supervisors, according to the report.
{mosads}While the officers were on break, a gunman opened fire in the security checkpoint area of the airport’s Terminal 3, resulting in the first ever death in the line of duty of a TSA agent.
The shooting at LAX airport prompted calls for TSA agents to be armed, though critics of the agency argued against allowing its employees to carry guns.
