Airport reverses course on Justin Bieber-inspired artwork

Officials at the Indianapolis International Airport are apparently not “Beliebers.”

The airport has canceled the installation of a sculpture that was inspired by controversial pop star Justin Bieber, the Indianapolis Star reported on Friday.

Indianapolis International Airport Carlo Bertolini told the paper that the airport was concerned about Bieber’s recent run-ins with the law.

“It was approved [but] it was the week of the scheduled installation when we became aware of the focus was on one particular celebrity,” Bertolini told the Star. “I think some of the headlines and certain events in the last few weeks [about Bieber], it wouldn’t have been and ideal match for the airport family environment.”

Bieber has been accused in recent weeks of drug use, driving under the influence and drag racing.
