Teen arrested for tweeting airline threat

A Dutch teenager has been arrested for tweeting a terrorist threat to American Airlines, according to multiple reports.

The teenager, a 14-year-old girl, tweeted Sunday “Hello my name’s Ibrahim and I’m from Afghanistan. I’m part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I’m gonna do something really big bye.”

American Airlines responded to the tweet by saying it was contacting law enforcement officials.

{mosads}”Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP Address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI,” the Fort Worth, Texas-based company tweeted back to the girl’s account.

Both the original tweet and American’s response have since been deleted from the Twitter website, but the girl who started the conversation has reportedly been arrested.

“Dutch girl (14) from Rotterdam arrested after American Airlines threat. Investigation continues,” the Rotterdam, Netherlands, police department tweeted on Monday.

The Twitter account that started the investigation has been suspended by the website.
