An Amtrak train derailed in Montana this week, The Associated Press reports.
The train, which was operating on Amtrak’s Empire Builder route, was carrying 177 passengers. Only one passenger who was on the board the train suffered minor injuries, according to the report.
The train was traveling west from Chicago toward Seattle at the time of the accident.
{mosads}Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said the accident was caused by two cars of the 13-car train slipping off the tracks, the AP said.
The accident resulted in seven trains on the northwestern Amtrak route being delayed Monday, according to the report.
The Empire Builder route has gained attention previously because of a dispute with freight rail companies about delays Amtrak said were being caused by oil trains.
The Amtrak trains operate on tracks that are owned by BNSF Rail Company.
The freight rail company said it was making repairs overnight to the section of track where the Amtrak train derailed, according to the report.
