DC court orders TSA action on full-body scanners

{mosads}The order came down Wednesday, a full year after the same court ordered the TSA to establish procedures for use of the scanners. That ruling came as a result of a 2010 lawsuit filed by the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), a nonprofit concerned with emerging civil liberties issues, challenging the legitimacy of the scanners.

The scanners’ critics argue that they are ineffective at providing airport security and could pose health and privacy risks.

The agency has until the end of August to offer an explanation.
