Report: Obama mulling Charlotte Mayor Foxx for DOT chief
{mosads}The city has won praise for constructing a light rail line that opened in 2007, and Foxx has overseen its expansion efforts.
The report said Foxx is being considered in addition to National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Deborah Hersman, who was rumored to be a leading contender for much of February.
LaHood has said that he will remain in office until his successor is chosen and confirmed by the Senate.
