Southwest’s tech glitches stretch into second day

Southwest Airlines is continuing to experience technical glitches for a second day in a row.

We are aware of system issues and are working quickly to resolve. We will share more info soon,” the airline tweeted on Tuesday.

The previous issue was with Southwest’s weather data provider, which kept shutting down, making it unsafe for planes to fly. The issue was resolved this morning before the second wave of technical glitches hit.

We’ve resumed normal flight operations after our third-party weather data provider experienced intermittent performance issues Monday evening preventing transmission of weather information that is required to safely operate our aircraft,” Southwest previously said. “While Southwest Teams and the vendor worked to restore connectivity, we implemented a ground stop to protect the Safety of our Crews and Customers.”

It is not clear if the issue is still the weather data provider.

There are still some Southwest flights currently in the air.

The airline is asking customers to go to its website or see attendants at airports for any issues.

Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines also experienced technical issues Monday affecting booking and apps.
