Holder fires back at Fox News over term ‘Islamic extremists’
Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday hit back at Fox News over its criticism of him and President Obama for not using the term “Islamic extremists” when discussing recent terror attacks.
“You know, if Fox didn’t talk about this, they would have nothing else to talk about, it would seem to me,” Holder said during a luncheon at the National Press Club on Tuesday, dismissing the controversy.
{mosads}Holder, who will step down when his successor is confirmed, said he worries about the policies in place, not the terminology.
“You know, radical Islam, Islamic extremism, I’m not sure an awful lot is gained by saying that. It doesn’t have any impact on our military posture; it doesn’t have any impact on what we call it on the policies that we put in place,” he continued.
“The terminology, has – seems to me – little or no impact on what ultimately we have to do,” said Holder.
