A chapter of the Girl Scouts is returning a $100,000 donation that would have forced the group to discriminate against transgender children.

The Girl Scouts of Western Washington turned down the contribution from an unnamed donor, who demanded that the money not be used to pay for transgender girls to go to camp, according to a report in Seattle Metropolitan magazine.

Transgender girls are currently allowed to attend Girl Scouts.

{mosads}“Please guarantee that our gift will not be used to support transgender girls,” reads the letter from the donor. “If you can’t, please return the money.”

The head of the Girl Scouts of Washington, Megan Ferland, said she was “very sad” that the donation came with strings attached.

She said it would have paid for 500 girls to attend the Girl Scouts’ camp.

After returning the money, Ferland started an online fundraiser to make up for the lost donation, which has raised more than $120,000 so far.
