Report: Feds issue $100B in regs in 2016

The Obama administration has published more than $100 billion in regulations in 2016, according to a new report.

The American Action Forum, a conservative group that tracks regulations, said federal agencies published $1.3 billion in regulations last week alone, stemming from 78 final rules and another 39 proposed rules.

One of the most expensive rules came from the Department of Energy, which proposed new efficiency standards for walk-in coolers and freezers, according to the group.

Since the beginning of the year, federal agencies have finalized $106 billion worth of regulations, and proposed another $40 billion in future rules.

That breaks down to $452 per person, according to the report.
