New regs for Tuesday: Nuclear, cars, insurance
Tuesday’s edition of the Federal Register contains new guidelines for cyber insurance, car importation rules, and nuclear safety requirements.
Here’s what is happening:
Insurance: The Department of the Treasury issuing new guidelines under the terrorism risk insurance program.
The terrorism risk insurance guidelines will address “cyber liability.”
The guidelines go into effect immediately.
Cars: The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is moving forward with new vehicle importation rules.
The updated importation rules stem from the Clean Air Act’s emissions standards, and include documentation requirements for the vehicles and their engines.
The changes to into effect in 30 days.
Nuclear: The Department of Energy (DOE) is moving forward with nuclear safety requirements.
The DOE’s Office of Nuclear Safety Enforcement announced Friday that whistleblower protections for employees who report dangerous workplace conditions will considered a nuclear safety requirement.
The changes go into effect in 30 days.
