Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be back on the bench Tuesday for oral arguments for the time since surgery in late December.

{mosads}The Supreme Court’s Public Information Office confirmed Ginsburg’s attendance shortly after 9 a.m.

The 85-year-old member of the court’s liberal wing was forced to miss arguments in January for the first time due to her health in more than 25 years.

Ginsburg underwent surgery on Dec. 21 to remove two cancerous nodules from her lower left lung. The court said on Jan. 11 that Ginsburg’s recovery was on track and that a post-surgery evaluation indicates no evidence of remaining disease, and that no further treatment is required.

Ginsburg was at court on Friday for a closed-door conference in which the justices decided which cases to review.

The justices are returning to the bench after a monthlong winter recess. They are expected to hear a dispute over patent and trademark law involving the U.S. Postal Service.
