President-elect Donald Trump will take the oath of office on Friday, but tourists will be prohibited from capturing the moment with selfie sticks.
The device is among a slew of items prohibited around the inauguration area on the National Mall, along with signs potentially used by protesters, fireworks and umbrellas, according to the Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA).
“You can wear ponchos and hats if it rains,” the Sergeant at Arms suggested as an alternative.
Backpacks, strollers, chairs, balls, balloons, tripods, laser pointers, air horns, whistles, alcohol, coolers and bicycles are also prohibited.

Trump will be sworn in around noon on Friday, but those attending the inauguration are expected to begin crowding the Capitol grounds and National Mall in the early morning.
Security will limit what items attendees can bring to the inauguration beyond guns, knives, explosives, drones and any other items that pose a security threat, which are banned.
The backpack ban will also apply to other large bags, such as briefcases and certain purses, that exceed size restrictions. Bags are limited to 12 inches high, 14 inches wide and 5 inches deep.
Animals will also be prohibited, with the exception of service dogs.
