Wednesday’s meeting announcements: SEC to hold session

Federal agencies and advisory committees are going to get together in December and throughout the new year.

Here are the new meeting announcements:

The Securities and Exchange Commission is meeting on Wednesday to consider whether to issue new rules on securities sales. 

On Thursday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is holding a meeting in Washington to discuss issues facing a number of electric companies. 

A Coast Guard working group on Merchant Marine personnel is meeting on Jan. 8 and 9 to discuss new training requirements for crew. 

The science board for biodefense is holding a public teleconference on the afternoon of Jan. 10. 

Fishing regulators will hold a workshop webinar on Gulf of Mexico and south Atlantic king mackerel on Jan. 14. Also that day, the management council for New England fishing is meeting in Portsmouth, N.H., to discuss herring. 

Starting on Jan. 15, the Health and Human Services Department’s advisory committee on health information technology policy will hold monthly meetings.

On Jan. 15, 16 and 23, an advisory panel for the National Council on the Arts will hold open meetings in Washington.
