Tuesday’s meeting announcements: Air Force science board

A handful of federal advisory boards are getting ready to hold public meetings in early 2014.

Here’s what’s on the way:

The Air Force’s scientific advisory board is meeting in Arlington, Va., on Jan. 7 to kick off its fiscal 2014 studies. 

{mosads}The Agriculture Department’s advisory committee for meat and poultry inspection is planning to get together in Washington on Jan. 7 and 8.

On Jan. 9, the Commerce Department is holding a meeting to discuss pressurized containers. 

A federal panel on monkfish in New England is meeting in Providence, R.I., on Jan. 10.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is holding a forum to discuss implementing some international patent law treaties. The forum will take place on Jan. 14 in Alexandria, Va. 

A Transportation Department is meeting via conference call on Jan. 16. 

On Jan. 21, the science advisory board for the Environmental Protection Agency is holding a teleconference to discuss the agency’s regulatory agenda. An agency panel on environmental justice technical guidance is meeting on Jan. 30 and 31 in Arlington, Va. 

The State Department committee on coordinating shipping is meeting on Jan. 21 and Feb. 11 to prepare for an upcoming international meeting. 

NASA’s advisory panel for planetary science is getting together at the agency’s Washington headquarters on Jan. 22. 

On Jan. 22 and 23, a council for Pacific fishing is meeting in Portland, Ore. 

Fishing regulators will meet in La Jolla, Calif., on Jan. 22 and 24 to talk about highly migratory species management. 

An advisory panel for the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) National Center for Toxicological Research is planning to meet in Silver Spring, Md., on Jan. 29 and 30. 

The FDA’s ophthalmic medical device advisory group is meeting in Gaithersburg, Md., on Feb. 14.  The agency’s panel on orthopaedic and rehabilitation devices is planning a meeting for Feb. 21.
