Watch live: White House holds daily press briefing

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and national security adviser Jake Sullivan will hold the daily press briefing Friday afternoon.

Sullivan is likely to be peppered with questions about the United Nations General Assembly next week, which will see leaders from around the world descend on New York.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is among those expected to attend the summit, and he also plans to meet with President Biden in Washington, D.C., next week, according to multiple reports.

The White House released a statement earlier Friday from Sullivan welcoming a Houthi delegation to Saudi Arabia. According to the statement, the visit “comes after nearly 18 straight months of calm that began after a UN-mediated truce first went into effect on April 2, 2022.”

The press briefing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
