Santos faces third House expulsion vote: Watch live

Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) holds a press conference to discuss the expulsion resolution against him outside the Capitol in Washington, D.C., Nov. 30, 2023.

Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) is facing a third vote on potential expulsion from the House on Friday.

Santos, who has defended himself and refused calls to resign, has argued that colleagues removing him without being convicted of a crime would set a bad precedent.

The New York Republican has been indicted on 23 federal charges, including stealing money from donors. He has pleaded not guilty on all counts.

Santos would be only the sixth House member to ever be expelled. A number of lawmakers who previously declined to vote to remove Santos have signaled they plan to change their vote after a scathing report released by the House Ethics Committee.

The vote is expected on Friday morning.
