White House holds press briefing: Watch live

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will deliver a daily press briefing Wednesday, joined by National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

President Biden today made the case for a renewal of military aid to Ukraine in a public statement. U.S. funding for Ukraine’s defense against Russia hit another roadblock Tuesday. Senate Republicans and Democrats clashed over whether to tie border security with aid to Ukraine and Israel at a private intelligence meeting. Biden’s challenge is to convince an increasingly skeptical GOP that Ukraine’s security is vital to the U.S.

The briefing is slated to begin at 2:45 p.m. EST.
