White House holds press briefing: Watch live

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and national security adviser Jake Sullivan are slated to hold a press briefing Wednesday afternoon.

The White House has repeatedly pushed back on special counsel Robert Hur’s report and what it called “politically motivated” passages detailing lapses in President Biden’s memory. The administration is weighing whether to release the transcript of Biden’s interview with Hur.

The White House is also seeking to put pressure on House GOP leadership to bring up the Senate-passed foreign aid bill for a vote. The Senate advanced the $95 billion emergency defense spending bill in a bipartisan 70-29 vote. It includes billions of dollars for Ukraine, Israel, the Indo-Pacific as well as humanitarian aid for Gaza, the West Bank and more.

The event is scheduled to begin at noon EST.
