Watch live: House convenes hearing on impact of Biden’s new border plan on schools

The House Education subcommittee on K-12 and early childhood education is holding a hearing Tuesday to discuss how White House immigration policy has affected schools.

Subcommittee Chair Rep. Aaron Bean (R-Fla.) released a statement alleging that President Biden has been allowing an “uncontrolled influx” of migrants into the U.S. and it has reportedly resulted in overcrowding and unsafe conditions in schools.

Biden is expected to sign an executive order later today that will enact limits on asylum, in hopes of reducing the number of encounters between migrants and immigration officials at the border.

The hearing is slated to begin at 10:05 a.m. EDT.
