President Biden is set to hold a campaign event Friday evening in Detroit, just a day after he held a high-stakes news conference to conclude the NATO summit.
The president defended his viability as the Democratic nominee during the press conference Thursday, amid growing calls from lawmakers for him to step aside following a lackluster debate performance against former President Trump last month. However, a high-profile gaffe at the event did little to qualm concerns.
While in Michigan, the president is expected to target Trump over the “Project 2025” conservative agenda.
Biden is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. EDT.
