Watch live: Biden courts Latino voters in speech at annual UnidosUS conference

President Biden is continuing a series of appearances in Las Vegas on Wednesday with an address to the annual conference of UnidosUS, a major national civil rights organization for the Latino community.

Biden received an endorsement from Unidos in May.

In making his case for reelection to an audience of Latino voters, Biden will be aiming to reverse a downward trend in his approval ratings with the demographic. Around the time he took office, Biden showed a 60 percent approval rating. Recently, though, the sitting president has been slightly underwater, with 45 percent approval and 50 percent disapproval among Latino voters.

Wednesday’s speech follows Biden’s address to the national convention of the NAACP, also in Las Vegas. The city as a whole could prove an important source of votes for the incumbent, as Nevada is a critical swing state heading into the election.

Polls, however, also show that while the incumbent is maintaining 2020-like leads over former President Trump among Latino voters in the swing states, younger and female Hispanic voters are increasingly open to vote for third-party candidates, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The president is scheduled to speak at 4:30 p.m. EDT.
