Watch: Trump campaigns in Pennsylvania just weeks after assassination attempt
Recorded earlier
Former President Trump appeared Wednesday in Pennsylvania’s capital of Harrisburg, holding his first rally in the commonwealth since the July 13 attempt on his life in Butler.
Universal condemnation of the attack notwithstanding, recent polling in the pivotal Keystone State indicates that the former president has lost some ground in his bid to regain the White House over the eventful month of July.
Trump’s new likely Democratic opponent, Vice President Harris, showed a 4-point lead in Susquehanna Polling for Pennsylvania, July 22-28 — within the margin of error but still a reversal of the advantage he enjoyed over President Biden in earlier surveys. Another recent poll, Bloomberg/Morning Consult, shows Trump ahead by two points in the state.
With Pennsylvania remaining in play, heavy campaigning by both parties is a given; moreover, Trump said last week he plans to make a return visit to Butler for another rally.
