Watch: JD Vance woos voters in Wisconsin, a key swing state

Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), former President Trump's newly announced running mate, conducts a walk-through of the stage for the Republican National Convention at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on July 16, 2024.

Recorded Wed., Aug. 7

Following a midmorning appearance in neighboring Michigan, GOP candidate for vice president Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) held a whistle-stop rally Wednesday afternoon at the Eau Claire, Wis., airport.

The two states are part of the “Blue Wall” of the North-central U.S. in which Democrats are looking to rebuild support in the run-up to November’s election. When former President Trump announced Vance’s place with him on the Republican ticket at the convention in Milwaukee in mid-July, Wisconsin had looked like it was swinging Republican.

But the change from President Biden to Vice President Harris by Democrats has lessened, erased and even reversed the GOP lead in polling in the big seven swing states.
