Former President Trump made a campaign stop Wednesday in Asheville, N.C., bringing with him a message to voters about the economy ahead of November.

The address came as the GOP nominee faces pressure from members of his own party to tone down his personal attacks against Vice President Harris and focus more on policy, with the election less than three months away.

The Trump camp has often tried to tie Harris to a narrative that plagued President Biden while he was the nominee. The former president won the battleground state in 2020 by a small margin.

His remarks also followed news that the annual inflation rate fell below 3 percent for the first time since March 2021.
