Former President Trump and running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) made a campaign stop Wednesday afternoon at the North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame.

The event was the first outdoor rally for the former president since the attempt on his life last month in Pennsylvania. Bulletproof glass will reportedly be incorporated into the setup.

Asheboro, where the museum is located, is near the center of this hard-fought swing state.

Trump’s visit came just seven days after his stop in Asheville, N.C., in the Tarheel State’s mountainous west. The theme of last week’s speech was economic policy; this time Trump and Vance were slated to speak about national security.
