White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a news briefing Friday afternoon.

The briefing comes a day after President Biden traveled to Florida and Georgia in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene’s destruction. During his visit, Biden pressed for unity amid the recovery period.

It also follows a tentative agreement made between the International Longshoremen’s Association union and U.S. Maritime Alliance Thursday evening to end a two-day strike. The president hailed the agreement, arguing that collective bargaining works and is essential to the economy.

Additionally, Jean-Pierre’s remarks come as tension in the Middle East weighs heavily on the Biden administration.

The briefing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EDT.
